Hello
Hello, I’m Salony, a womenswear designer, creative lead, and product developer based in the UK. Throughout my journey in fashion, I have developed a strong understanding of design methodology, concept-led development, and commercially focused product creation. With hands-on experience in designing and developing womenswear, I approach collections with both creative depth and market awareness.
My work is driven by an ability to interpret trends with clarity, translating them into focused designs that align with customer demand and brand positioning. A strong understanding of market dynamics enables me to generate products that balance creativity with relevance and long-term value. Alongside design, my growing inclination toward fashion buying has strengthened my understanding of the full product lifecycle—how products are positioned, where they sit within a range, and the revenue potential they can generate.
With in-depth experience working closely with suppliers and export teams, I bring a strong command of fabrics, costing, product development, and margin considerations. Supported by a Master’s degree and advanced knowledge of pattern construction and garment engineering, I bridge creative leadership with strategic, commercially informed decision-making.
My Story
My design perspective has been shaped by working across different markets, with extensive experience on the supplier side in the UK and in export-led manufacturing environments in India. This exposure has given me a strong understanding of how global brands operate, how product is developed for different markets, and how design decisions translate into commercial outcomes.
Working closely with buyers, merchandisers, and technical teams in the UK has strengthened my ability to interpret market needs, trend direction, and brand requirements with precision. Combined with hands-on experience in sourcing, fabric development, costing, and production in India, I bring a holistic view of the product lifecycle—from concept and development through to execution and delivery.
This cross-market, supplier-led experience informs my approach to both design and fashion buying, allowing me to evaluate product with clarity, commercial awareness, and an understanding of how value is created across the supply chain.
